• What is your hometown, and what’s the best thing about it?

  I grew up all over the southeast, attending 12 schools by the time I graduated from high school, but I claim Jackson as my hometown. It is a hidden gem of a city that is often overlooked—a community full of movers and shakers, excited to leave their mark and support each other.

• Who is your favorite real-life genius? Why?

  Alexander Von Humboldt. AVH is the father of the modern idea of studying nature as a science. There are more plants, animals, and geographical features named for him than anyone else in history.

• When you’re not working, you’re most likely…

  When I am not working, I can typically be found writing with a good coffee or on an outdoor adventure. The majority of the time, I am teaching rappelling classes, canoeing down one of Mississippi's waterways, hitting the trail on foot or bike, or wreck diving off the Gulf Coast.
